INTERRELATIONS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL PERSONAL PECULIARITIES OF SENTENCED TO IMPRISONMENT WOMEN OF DIFFERENT AGES AT THE STAGE OF RE-SOCIALIZATION

Abstract

Personal features of women serving punishment in correctional institutions have been considered. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the psychological characteristics of convicted women of different ages in places of deprivation of liberty.

Based on the analysis of literary sources on the research problem the author has found out that imprisonment and the subsequent serving of punishment lead to significant changes in the personality of the convicted person and his behavior. The study of convicts demonstrates that most of them assess reality and their capabilities inappropriately and unrealistically. They often “do not see”, do not realize the causal link between their way of life, personal qualities and the committed crime.

The age features of convicted women have been established. It has been found out that the older are those under the study, the higher is their social intelligence, and especially it concerns the emotional component.

Several high enough inverse correlations of self-evaluation with age of the studied group have been found out. The older are the subjects, the more critical they relate to the features of their character, and vice versa – the uncriticality attitude to their qualities is characteristic for the younger subjects.
