COUNTERACTION TO ILLICIT TRAFFICKING OF FIREARMS BY OPERATIVE UNITS OF THE NATIONAL POLICE OF UKRAINE
Abstract
The latest research on the issue of counteracting illicit trafficking of firearms by operative units of the National Police has been analyzed. The concepts of weapons, firearms, counteraction by operative units, illicit trafficking have been studied; their content has been revealed; and their definition has been provided.
The basic directions of counteraction to illicit trafficking of firearms have been determined. It has been noted that counteraction occurs effectively at the stage of preparing for a crime. The authors have characterized the problems of counteraction by operative units of the National Police of Ukraine, which arise at the stage of obtaining the primary operative and search information and during carrying out of operative and search activities.
The counteraction to the illicit trafficking of firearms has been defined as the system of various search actions by operative units of the National Police of Ukraine in regard to the search, prevention, detection and suppression of unlawful acts related to illicit trafficking of weapons.
