THE WAYS TO OPTIMIZE PROFESSIONAL PSYCHOLOGICAL SELECTION OF THE CANDIDATES FOR SERVICE TO THE NATIONAL POLICE OF UKRAINE
Abstract
Theoretical principles of improving psycho-diagnostic methods and means used for the purpose of implementing professional psychological selection of police personnel for the National Police of Ukraine. The authors have stressed the usefulness of using professional experience of selecting police officers of advanced countries, which carry out step by step multi-stage procedures of studying professional qualifications of the candidates for the positions. The authors have analyzed the theory and practice of professional psychological selection of the personnel to the National Police of Ukraine, in particular the structural and logical scheme of making a psychological forecast for the successful professional activity of the candidates for the positions, which includes three successive stages.
The first is to determine the level of logical, verbal, mathematical abilities of a candidate, as well as to identify his characterological traits, character types, emotional state and type of behavior. The second stage – is the evaluation of psychological components of a personality and social competence using verbal (interview) and interactive (case interview, stress interview training, videos with the following discussion, etc.) methods. The third stage is the analysis of the test, interviews and interactive methods of assessment results; it is completed with the forecast of the success of professional activity of the candidates.
The authors of the article have offered the directions of the optimization of this process on the basis of the implementation of an integrated approach, which is based on the theory of the leading tendencies.
